Pandemic Prompts Passaggio Wines Move to Treasure Island, San Francisco

NEWS RELEASE

San Francisco, Calif.— 12/30/2020 — Passaggio Wines LLC, has announced its move to Treasure Island Wines (TI Wines) in San Francisco.

Due to effects brought on by the pandemic, Cindy Cosco, owner and winemaker of Passaggio Wines, has decided to consolidate her business. The Passaggio Wines tasting room on the famed Sonoma Square and the winemaking facility on Eighth Street East are now closed. Both hospitality and production will now take place at TI Wines—an urban winery collective of skilled winemakers who hand-craft small lots of exclusive artisan wines.

The picturesque location on the former U.S. Naval Base in the middle of San Francisco Bay, is minutes from downtown San Francisco and the East Bay. Coming in 2021, a ferry service from San Francisco to Treasure Island will be offered.

At TI Wines, we look forward to taking advantage of the shared production facility and inviting club members and guests to sip and savor Passaggio wines in our new, shared tasting room and outdoor event area. Cosco, along with other winemakers, will be on-site to greet members and new customers during tasting experiences as well as special events.

Passaggio Wines is now open at our new TI Wine location on Saturdays and Sundays from 1pm to 4pm for wine pick up and bottle sales only. Once Covid-19 restrictions are lifted, the shared tasting room at TI Wines will also host Happy Hour on Friday (time TBD).

Cosco launched Passaggio Wines in 2007 with 50 cases of unoaked Chardonnay and, in just 13 years, grew the brand to 1,750 cases with 15 different wines, both traditional and hard-to-find varieties. “Passaggio,” meaning “passageway” or “pass through,” reflects her winemaking journey as the next chapter unfolds.

Cosco has always been passionate about winemaking. Committed to continuing to produce her fruit-forward, food-friendly style wines and focusing on Sonoma Valley varietals, she looks forward to her new adventure at Treasure Island.

“As a winemaker, I continue to evolve.” Cosco says. “I’m so grateful to have this opportunity to pursue my passion and am thankful for my loyal club members, friends, and family who have supported me as I move forward on this new adventure. TI Wines is the perfect fit for me and I look forward to my Spring Release in March in my new-found home.”
