United Sommeliers Foundation Raises $1 Million for Beverage Alcohol Professionals Out of Work Due to Circumstances Outside of Their Control

A major milestone was reached with Gemstone Vineyard recent donation to The USF. Today, we proudly share that we have raised $1 Million dollars with the help and support of the wine community. In the words of Amy Marks Dornbusch, President of Gemstone Vineyards:

 

“USF has done for the pandemic what everyone should be doing. Looking inside their community, pooling together resources, and distributing them directly back to people within the community who have faced financial hardship. The wine and restaurant community relies on sommeliers and wine professionals to lift us up, and celebrate life through food and wine. We are thrilled to support the Foundation by helping them reach their $1M mark in just over one year, which is no small feat and speaks to the generosity of our small community of wine professionals. As a female proprietor with an all female staff, I am doubly proud to support the Debbie Lewis (@lewiscellars) grant program, helping women pursue higher wine education and adding to the diversity of the industry.”

 

Through their generosity, we are continuing to award our applicants with initial grants and Grand Cru awards.
