Oliver Winery Names Rob Warren as New Director of Winemaking

NEWS RELEASE

Warren Adds Experience to Growing Winemaking Operation; Dennis Dunham Retires After 26 Years

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (March 3, 2022) — Oliver Winery & Vineyards, one of the 30 largest wineries in the country, named Robert Warren as Director of Winemaking. Warren previously served as the Director of Winemaking at Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants for 14 years.

Warren joins the Indiana-based winery with over 25 years of experience in viticulture and winemaking. In his new role, he will oversee cellar and winemaking operations, sourcing, vineyard relationships, and Oliver’s winemaking process. Warren’s experience with every grape variety grown in the United States, plus many from the major wine-producing regions around the world, adds fresh perspective to Oliver’s accomplished winemaking team.

“Oliver was built on an incredible foundation, and I’m looking forward to having the opportunity not only to continue that vision but build upon it,” said Warren. “I’m excited to apply my knowledge of winemaking from across the globe and grow and innovate the wine program that has been pioneering the sweet wine industry for decades.”

The new hire comes as Dennis Dunham, VP of Operations and Director of Winemaking, announces his retirement. During Dunham’s more than 25 years at Oliver Winery, he played a critical role in helping the company adapt to significant changes in the production and served as a champion for innovation and excellence.

“I’m humbled to have been a part of such an amazing team over the last couple of decades,” said Dunham, “and I look forward to what Rob will bring to the table as the winery continues to blaze trails and honor the traditions of our pioneering spirit.”

As Oliver continues to grow on a national scale, its team has seen substantial growth with Warren joining more than a dozen key new hires in 2021, including Jon Black as Chief Financial Officer; Andy Gresho as Commercial Analyst and Demand Planning Director; and Laura Cleary as Vineyard Manager. In addition, Pete Batule was recently promoted to Winery Operations Director and will work closely alongside Warren.
