Sloan Estate Winery Property Sold To Chinese Investor

Sloan Estate Winery of Rutherford has been confirmed by Wine Industry Insight as the winery property being purchased by Goldin Hong Kong investment and factoring company Goldin Financial Holdings (HKEX:530) for $40 million. Goldin is not buying Sloan Estate’s existing winery business.

The transaction was previously reported by Wine Industry Insight on June 9.

Sloan Estate Winery is owned by Sloan Falily Winery LLC and managed by Stuart Sloan of Seattle. The winery makes approximately 300 cases of a proprietary red all from 100 percent estate grapes. The wines are sold for between $200 and $300 and all through a mailing list that is harder to get on than that for a royal wedding.

Robert Parker gave the 2002 vintage a rare 100 points.

Martha McClellan is the winemaker.
