December 21, 2011 (San Luis Obispo, CA) —San Luis Obispo Vintners Executive Director, Becky Gray has resigned to fulfill a passion with a start up non-profit organization in the North County. Her resignation is effective January 30, 2012 and the search for a new Executive Director is actively underway.

Founded in 1989, SLO Vintners has grown significantly in recent years, currently with a membership base of 67, which has grown over 300% in the past six years. The organization has recently spent a significant amount of time building member relations and leveraging important alliances with local businesses and tourism organizations, and also invested heavily in some public relations ‘behind the scenes’ work that will roll out in 2012. They have been successful with their direct to consumer marketing by hosting two annual events that tend to be “sold out” crowds, and auction & event revenues have steadily risen over the years. There is a positive vibe in the organization as they move into 2012 and continue to promote and enhance further prosperity of the SLO Wine Territory and the specific world renowned appellations that lie within that territory.

“I am excited at the place where the association sits right now,” said Gray. “I have been able to work with passionate people while promoting impeccable wines in a region I am so fond of, all of it was a dream come true. I will miss this organization but look forward to continuing my passion of working with people and the MUST organization.” MUST is a start up non-profit philanthropic community based organization whose goal is to raise funds for a variety of community needs.

The SLO Vintners 6 member board, along with Becky is in the process of looking for a new Executive Director. Potential candidates should go to www.slowine.com and look under “jobs in wine country” for details about the position. All interested candidates are asked to submit their cover letter, resume and supporting information electronically by January 15, 2012 to the email: searchcommittee@slowine.com.

“Becky’s involvement has been one of the keys to the success of our Association,” said Mike Sinor, President of the Board and owner of Sinor-LaVallee. “As sad as the Board is to see Becky leave, everyone is looking forward to finding the next Executive Director who can continue Becky’s hard work and propel the Association to even higher levels of recognition.
