NEW SUMMARY FORMAT ADDED

This article represents a departure from previous Wine Industry Insight/Wine Executive News articles in that it presents a brief summary, sometimes (as with this issue) with links to source material.

I am doing this because there is much news to report, and trying to do an exhaustive piece on every article prevents me from getting all the stories to premium, Wine Executive News readers fast enough.

I will continue to write more in-depth articles, but this alternative format allows me to bring more articles to paying subscribers faster.

READER (AND WRITER) OUTRAGE

And, yes I understand many readers are outraged, OUTRAGED that they have to pay for articles that I spend hours working to produce.

Right On, Bro! I am personally outraged that I must work to make money.

We would all be so much better off had I been born wealthy and could do this all for free.

(Actually, I was born into a wealthy family in the South but was disinherited for leading a civil rights march that got me kicked out of Ole Miss and deported from the state without a sou to my soul … another story for another time).

Hell, sticking up 7-11s would be way quicker and easier than wading through a raft of documents or trying to talk to people who are either in hiding or so very important that they never have time to return a call. Most of those folk are either lawyers or felons.  Ironically, they all have time to complain if I print something that they could have said better if only they had returned the call. Or that I asked them to correct. Or comment on. (Note to those: respond or shut up.)

So, listen up: If you’re going to email me and complain that you want to read one of these pieces (past, present and future) and don’t want to pay … then, I’ll start a trust fund today and you can be the first to endow it. Generously. Way more generously than a subscription.
