Christopher Creek Winery Sold

NEWS RELEASE – Christopher Creek Winery, founded in 1974 and operated by Fred and Pam Wasserman has been sold to Two Kings Wine Company, LLC owned by Robert Dahl and Dominic Foppoli.

The 11-acre Russian River winery currently produces 3,500 cases of estate wines from its hillside property and farms an additional 27 acres on Bradford Mountain in Dry Creek. The Wasserman’s sold their winery after 15 years of operation and reportedly are ready to enjoy retirement.

Co-owner Robert Dahl is a native Minnesotan who moved to California in June of 2011 with his wife Janelle and three children to follow their passion for wine and to live the wine lifestyle.

“Christopher Creek was one of the first wineries I looked at when I moved to California, but at that time it was just out of my reach, so it’s very rewarding to have been able to complete this acquisition”, Robert stated.

Robert is also the founder and owner of California Shiners (www.californiashiners.com), Napa’s largest contract bottling winery and one of the fastest growing wineries in California, producing over 750,000 cases annually.

Co-owner Dominic Foppoli is a Russian River resident and 4th generation grape grower in America and centuries of wine history in Italy, Dominic represents generations of family wine passion. He is one of only a hand full of Americans to hold a Master’s degree in the business of wine.

Dominic is also the founder and owner of Russian River wine producer Foppoli Wines, Benevolo Wines, and Sonoma County Beer producer Old Redwood Brewing Co. Dominic is an active leader in the Russian River Valley Millennial Council which represents the face and voice of the next generation of wine in Russian River. Dominic is passionately involved in the youth service charity organization Active 20-30.

Christopher Creek specializes in producing artisan, award winning wines and is internationally known for their Petite Sirah, Syrah and Cabernet Franc.  The new owners plan on keeping the wine making “as is” and focusing their attention on opening up the estate grounds to deliver the wine lifestyle experience.

“We already have great wine, we just need to show everyone what the wine lifestyle is all about”, said Robert.  Guests can enjoy a glass of wine pool side with panoramic views of the rolling vineyards and valley or enjoy a picnic by the creek. The rustic tasting room is located at the winery off Limerick Lane and Old Redwood Highway, hours are 10 am to 6 pm.
