News Fetch WithOUT Categories

Reading all or part of every article, prioritizing which are most important, putting them into categories, then testing the links every morning is one of the most time-consuming parts of every News Fetch.

I spend my time to make sure you don’t waste your time. That you can get quickly to what matters to you.

And I make those judgement calls both as a former wine importer/wholesaler who has hands-on wine biz experience, and as a journalist and journalism professor with more than 40 years of experience — 22 of those covering the wine business including  my founding of Wine Business Monthly.

Here’s what today’s News Fetch would look like without all the above. (Now back to producing today’s final product)

Small, after-publication follow-up: The categories are especially important on a day like today when there is so much news.

I can’t control the number of articles, but it makes organization and prioritization especially important to save subscriber time.

On the down side, it takes a lot more production time. It took me an hour an a half to organize, curate and check the links on this list. Caution: there are a couple of bad links  and headlines below that I have corrected in the final version.

If you don’t subscribe to News Fetch (It’s free) you can see today’s  issue online in the archive here. Note that the newsletter renders a little differently online than it does in an email.
