Allied Grape Growers President Nat DiBuduo presented the supply side of the Unified Symposium’s “State of the Industry” on Wednesday. You can access his full Powerpoint presentation at this link.
Nat’s presentation has all the details, but briefly, here are six of his 38 slides. (You can get a larger image of by clicking on any of the slides):
There is no shortage and there will be no shortage in the near future …
… because there are enough vines being planted.
Most of the vines being planted are red. But not nearly enough to take care of the growing consumer demand for varietals like Malbec.
The drought could be big trouble.
Vines for value wines are migrating north toward Lodi.
High- and mid-value wines are out-planting value wines.
That was just a taste. Get the full Powerpoint presentation at this link.
