Napa Quake Help Forum: Redesign, New Link

The Napa quake help forum has been re-designed to make it more user friendly.  The forum also has NEW link:

WASTING TIME TO SAVE IT

The rush to get the board up and running to help people, meant that, yesterday morning, I tried to use a third-party forum provider and that was just a headache.

Despite paying for a premium account so that NO ads appeared, they appeared anyway … in the CAPTCHA registration part (Total DBag maneuver, that)  … and in various random links I could not remove or change (DBag2).

AND … the way that the code was configured made the forum almost impossible to use (DBag3).

The third-party selection decision was mine because I could do it without help since Code Ninja (son and computer engineering student) William Perdue was at his paying job at the Apple Store in Santa Barbara.

BETTER  IMPLEMENTATION, ALL POSTS MIGRATED

In the end, everybody — including me — got a headache.

So, this morning, William installed and configured new code on our server. The old link goes to a notice redirecting people to the new forum.

I’ve just finished copying and pasting all the posts from the old site to the new one.

IF OLD SITE FRUSTRATED YOU, PLEASE VISIT NEW ONE

If you gave up on the old site (and I know a LOT of you did because my email sizzled with complaints last night), please revisit.
