Lodi Vintner Victor Vineyards Hires New Marketing Personnel

NEWS RELEASE

Victor Vineyards has hired wine industry veterans Mark Fedorchak and Mark Chandler as members of its marketing team.

Fedorchak serves as Director of Sales & Marketing. He was instrumental in the introduction of Fetzer’s Bonterra brand and also led the sales and marketing efforts at Round Hill/Rutherford Wine Company for several years before returning to his hometown of Lodi.

Chandler, who ushered Lodi wine into the modern age as head of the Lodi Winegrape Commission for 20 years, has been retained for trade and media relations, and overall direction of the company. “I am committed to growing the Victor Vineyards brand. With these two long time wine professionals on board, we look forward to great things” said company President Robert Lawson

The family owned company was established in 1998, selling grapes and bulk wine to noted wineries around California, until the Lawson family introduced the Victor Vineyards brand in 2013. The name honors the historic village of Victor, where the company’s wines are made in a renovated 100-year-old grape cold storage facility.

The 2013 wines are the company’s second vintage release. “We are excited to introduce more consumers to the delicious flavors of our Lodi wines, at pricing that offers unprecedented value” offers Fedorchak. Chardonnay and Zinfandel are positioned at a recommended retail price of $15 per bottle, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon at $16, and “Roadside Red” – a hearty, palate-pleasing blend, at $14.

The wines have won several awards, including 88 Points/Editor’s Choice for Roadside Red, 90 Points/Editor’s Choice on the Pinot Noir, 89 Points for the Lawson Ranch Chardonnay, all from the Wine Enthusiast. All the wines garnered awards at the 2015 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, with the Old Vine Zinfandel earning a Gold Medal.

Carrying on the family tradition is Lawson’s 27-year-old son Ian, who is winemaker under the tutelage of consulting winemaker Larry Levin. Ian enjoys the experience: “Larry is an industry legend and knows how to treat Lodi fruit, getting full expression of the varietal characters, yielding silky, elegant wines.”

Victor Vineyards owns or controls 160 acres of premium varietals in the Lodi appellation, and is poised for steady growth over the coming years.
