Lewis Perdue’s Misfit Palate Wine Taste Preferences

My misfit palate runs more to  a gnarly, big, kinetic style of Tempranillo, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Malbec, Tannat, Zin, Syrah, petite Sirah, Charbono, Alicante Bouschet, most Italian varietals, Rhone blends, obscure Portugese varietals and blends etc.

I am not fond of most Pinot Noirs which seem wimpy to me except for a few I have tasted from Ste Rita Hills (notably Hilliard Bruce and Melville) … I enjoy Cab but it seems that my palate is tuned a for older styles … Not the austere fruit-impoverished style that seems to be the latest fashion.

And I rarely drink white wine.
