Screen Shot 2016-07-19 at 4.33.53 PMSONOMA, CA, July 19, 2016 – Cline Family Cellars has strengthened its winemaking team with the hiring of Tom Gendall as their new Assistant Winemaker.

Gendall’s winemaking experience has been influenced by local and international work at locations in Napa Valley, New Zealand and Germany. In this important role, Gendall will be working alongside Winemaker Charlie Tsegeletos to produce Cline Family Cellars’ acclaimed portfolio of Zinfandels and Rhône varietals, as well as the winery’s cool climate Chardonnay, Syrah and Pinot Noir. His background managing vineyards and running cellars will add to Cline’s commitment to wine quality exemplified by its portfolio of sustainable, estate vineyard based wines.

Tom comes to Cline from Sojourn Cellars, where he aided in the day-to-day operations of the cellar and planned out the future of the vineyards and wines. He originally hails from New Zealand where he graduated with a degree in Viticulture and Oenology in 2007. Tom has worked in New Zealand, Germany and more locally in Napa for Bryant Family Vineyards and in Sonoma for Arrowood Vineyards.

“I am thrilled to have someone with Tom’s caliber of knowledge and expertise join our winemaking team,” commented Tsegeletos in making the announcement. “Tom will collaborate with me in all aspects of our winemaking at Cline Family Cellars and Jacuzzi Family Vineyards, from the vine to the bottle, and be involved in new innovations as well as existing ones such as our luxury single vineyards portfolio. We are committed to hiring the best and brightest and look forward to seeing all that Tom has in store for contributing to our future success.”
