Purple/Sonoma Wine Co’s American Canyon facility looking for buyers

A 2.5-million-case wine making facility that is currently home to Purple Wine + Spirits, as well as number of its custom-crush clients, is for sale.

 

The facility in American Canyon — a municipality at the southern end of Napa County — is prominently promoting its association to Napa Valley.

 

According to the offering brochure, the “Napa County Winery” is “located in the prestigious Napa Valley …[t]he 75% rule that requires wines made in Napa to be made with 75% Napa grapes does not apply to this winery. The winery can source grapes from outside Napa and can print ‘Vinted and Bottled in American Canyon, Napa County’ on the bottle.”
