[UPDATE 3/13/17] COLAs Back Online After System Backup Killed TTB Computers

UPDATE: TTB COLA search fully functional when Wine Industry Insight accessed the system at 5:33 a.m. (PST) Monday, March 13.

The TTB system outage this week that thwarted access to permits Online and to Certificates of Label Approval is the result of a backup gone bad.

 

Wineries WII spoke with Friday afternoon said they were having intermittent problems with the permit system, but it seemed to be improving.

 

“We experienced technical difficulties while performing a backup of our systems,” said , TTB spokesman Tom Hogue in reply to Wine Industry Insight’s query about the problems.

 

“The amount of image data involved with COLAs Online in particular has complicated our efforts to put that system back in service,” said Hogue.  “We regret the inconvenience that the systems outages have caused industry members and are working diligently to have COLAs Online back in service on Monday, March 13.

 

Hogue added that, “We will make every effort to ensure timely processing of any applications affected by these systems outages.”
