Bill Harlan’s purchase of the Diamond Oaks Winery from Dinesh Maniar could be undone if a bankruptcy judge determines that the property belongs to the estate of other Maniar businesses currently in Chapter 11.
Diamond Oaks Vineyards along with two other Maniar companies — SF-based Montgomery Realty Group and Southland Thoroughbred Farms in Riverside County — filed separate Chapter 11 filings in September 2009, all in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California.
Diamond Oaks Winery did not file for bankruptcy.
Harlan purchased the property from Maniar on Dec. 23, 2009.
The winery, located adjacant to Harlan Estate, consists of 21.4 acres of land at 1595 Oakville Grade in Napa Valley. In addition to a 60,000-case facility, the real estate includes four acres of Cabernet Sauvignon vines and two acres of olive trees.
