SUMMARY: Red flag warnings frpm 5 p.m. Wednesday to 5 p.m. Thursday, predict that winds will intensify and change direction to come out of the northeast.

This could carry the potential for a spread of existing fires and initiation of new ones from wind-blown embers. Containment is zero in major fires. The death toll is rising slowly.

QUICK UPDATES October 11:

Note: The ability of authorities to offer accurate estimates of of damage has been hampered by active fires.

Multiple overnight wildfires spread by high winds across Napa, Sonoma, Lake, and Mendocino Counties have forced multiple mandatory evacuations, closed major highway and resulted in damages to homes as well as as winery and vineyard assets.

A number of wineries have also been damaged. A report on those that are known will be added to this as soon as we gather them.

The situation is fluid, and information is incomplete. This article will attempt to draw as complete a picture as possible in a rapidly changing emergency. This article is still in the editing stage as Wine Industry Insight works to create a complete picture of a fragmented, fluid crisis.

Apologies: Typos and formats will abound as we rush to gather the information and stay ahead of the situation.
