This article is no longer being updated. Please click over to the newest one: Fire pushes into City of Sonoma’s NE corner driven by Red Flag winds. Containment advances on other fires. Death toll rises

This is a continuation of the now-lengthy article we have been updating since Sunday. That article can be found here: N. Calif wine country wildfire situation expected to intensify as wind picks up.

RECENT INCIDENT NOTICES

2:59p – The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office is issuing a mandatory evacuation north of Hwy 128 from Geysers Rd to Chalk Hill Rd.

By Lewis Perdue, Wine Industry Insight Executive Editor/Publisher

SUMMARY: Despite numerous air attacks and additional firefighters, wine country fires continue to consume additional acres with little increase in containment.

Fire officials are expected to issue updates in about an hour.

Complicating efforts is a new Red Flag Warning posted for winds picking up around 11 p.m. tonight and strengthening during the early morning hours of Saturday.
