NY Canned-wine merchant Alexis Beechen has Visa card subscription “accident.” Note: Shoplifting behind the paywall is ¡no bueno!

This would be hilarious if it wasn’t so pathetic!

This morning, I get an email from Alexis Beechen (Gmail address, no company affiliation) who said she “accidentally” subscribed to the premium Wine Executive News and wanted the subscription canceled and a refund.

I did that. Here’s the Stripe dashboard transaction.

But, because I have never had an “accidental” subscription, I was suspicious.

How do you “accidentally” enter ALL of your credit card info. So I dug a bit and found that Alexis Beechen was in the canned wine business.

I suppose she “accidentally” read the original article I wrote, then asked (not accidentally) for her money back. Sort of cyber-shoplifting. So I wrote her back (scroll down).

Which brings up this link she obviously had never read: News Should Be Free – Stop This Wanting To Be Paid BS!

It’s not about the $29.99. It’s the principle. Some people still have those.

FYI, I like some wine in a can. Some of my best friends are in that business. But I can say I will never drink a drop of “Drop.”
