2015 Mayu Carménère-Syrah (Valle de Elqui, Chile) 55% Carménère, 45% Syrah Smoky, earthy, juicy plum and other dark fruits, a hint of spice on the finish. Dan Armor Cuvée Spéciale Cidre Brut (Brittany, France) Orange in color. Apple cider nose, with mild apple flavor cuts off somewhat quickly. I feel like it’s missing something on the mid-palate and the finish. A dry cider, 5%abv. Meh, pass. Purchased from Trader Joe’s in Cary, NC. -B
Well-rounded with hints of strawberry. While on the sweeter side it isn’t overpowering or sickly sweet. Great for backyard sipping and relaxing on a sunny shelter-in-place day. $9.99 Sonoma Market. – reviewed by KP
2018 Skouras “Zoe” White Wine (Peloponnese, Greece) 60% Roditis, 40% Moscofilero Lovely floral notes leap out of the glass. Juicy tropical fruits, lime, with a crisp, dry, flinty mineral character on the finish. Nice! Purchased on sale between $12-15 (misplaced receipt). -B
