75% of legal-drinking-age Americans prefer beer & spirits to wine

Last week, Daily Data published a Gallup Chart — Americans still prefer beer over wine and spirits – Gallup — that seemed to clash with an equally recent one from another major polling company that has spirits and cocktails at #1, beer #2 and wine coming in last.

Wine Industry Insight contacted Morning Consult Intelligence Intelligence. Their spokesman — T. Anthony Paterson —  said: “Gallup asked different questions than we did so there’s really no comparing the two reports. Gallup also surveyed respondents 18 years and up and we surveyed adults 21 years and old.”
